As communications professionals, we are all well aware of the ongoing concerns surrounding the spread and impact of COVID-19. Your health and safety continue to be our most important priorities and we remain committed to keeping you up to date on the actions PRSA Sierra Nevada is taking as the situation develops.

Due to the uncertainty about the continued trajectory of the virus and in line with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local government agencies, PRSA Sierra has made the decision to postpone this luncheon scheduled for March 24. We are disappointed to have to make this decision, but it is important for us to take these extra safety measures at this time and keep all of us safe.

For those that registered for the luncheon, you will be refunded. We thank you for your patience as we navigate this situation.

Are you missing out on 25% of Washoe County’s population in your client promotions? How about your diversity and inclusion hiring? The US Census last listed Washoe County’s Hispanic/Latino population as 24.7%—likely after the 2020 count that population is higher. Hispanics comprised nearly 60 million people in the US, or about 18%. Yet many of the public relations and marketing campaigns are ignoring this population—in the Truckee Meadows and nationwide.
